Format: Each round of the
competition will decided by 18 holes of match play golf under handicap
played according to the rules of the Royal and Ancient Golf Club in
conjunction with the Local Rules in force. It is each player’s
responsibility to familiarise himself with these rules
|
|
Stroke Allowance: The
higher handicap player will receive ¾ of handicap difference in strokes to
be taken according to the stroke index of the course upon which the match is
played.
|
|
Away Player: Any player
who is not or has not been a member in the last 5 years of the course upon
which the match is played will receive an additional 2 shots to be added to
his handicap before the stroke allowance is calculated.
|
|
Venue: The first named player
will have the option of home advantage. Any green fees payable should be divided
equally between the two competitors. Matches must be played on a course in the
SE of England within 35 miles of Marble Arch except where the players agree to
an alternate venue.
|
|
Notification of Opponent: An
updated copy of the draw will be e-mailed to all competitors at the start of the
competition and at the closing date for each round. However, it is strongly
recommended that winners check the web site for their next round opponents as
soon as possible. If their next round opponents are unknown, the winner should
contact both potential opponents to attempt to arrange a provisional date.
|
|
Arranging matches: Both
players will be responsible for arranging their match. If a player experiences
difficulty arranging a match, he should notify the secretary as soon as theses
difficulties become apparent. If a match is not played by the closing date, both
players will be scratched unless the secretary has previously been notified. In
this case the secretary will award the match to the person who, in his opinion,
has made the best efforts to arrange the match.
|
|
Deciding matches: Matches will
be decided over 18 holes of match play golf. Matches all square after 18 holes
will be decided by sudden death play off starting at the hole at which the match
commenced.
|
|
Notifying Results: The winner
is responsible for notifying the secretary as soon as possible of the match
result. E-mail is the preferred medium for result notification and e-mails
should have OHGS KO in the title.
|
|
In case of dispute, the
secretary’s decision shall be final |
